Hot Chocolate recipes

Dark hot chocolate 

Makes 20 servings
Ingredients:
3 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2 cups powdered sugar
1-1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl.
Working in two batches, pulse the ingredients in a food processor until the chocolate is finely ground.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months. 
To prepare:Put 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the mix in a mug and stir in 1 cup of hot milk. Top with whipped cream or miniature marshmallows.

Hot chocolate

Makes 20 servings
Ingredients:
3 cups dry nonfat or whole milk powder 
 2 cups powdered sugar
 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder, Dutch-process 
 1 1/2 cups finely chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips 
 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl. Working in two (or more) batches, depending on the size of your food processor, pulse the ingredients in a food processor until the chocolate is finely ground. Store the dry mix in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
 
To prepare:Put 1/3 cup of the cocoa mix in a mug and stir in 1 cup of hot milk or almond milk (water works ok but the hot chocolate isn't as creamy or flavorful). Top with whipped cream or miniature marshmallows, if desired.


Mexican Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup powdered milk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (or enough to fill the rest of jar)
Instructions:
Layer ingredients for each mix in 2-cup jars, bottles, or desired container. 
To prepare:
Mix contents of jar together. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of mix per 1 cup of boiling milk or water. Makes 6 - 8 cups


Peppermint Patty Hot Cocoa

Ingredients:
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup powdered milk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup peppermint chocolate peppermint cups, chopped
1/3 cup candy cane pieces (or enough to fill the rest of jar)
Instructions:
Layer ingredients for each mix in 2-cup jars bottles, or desired container. 
To prepare:
Mix contents of jar together. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of mix per 1 cup of boiling milk or water. Makes 6 - 8 cups



Reese's Peanut Butter Cocoa:

Ingredients:
2/3 cup powered sugar
1/3 cup powdered coconut milk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
scrapings from 1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup chopped homemade peanut butter cups or vegan peanut butter cups (or enough to fill the rest of jar)

 Layer ingredients for each mix in 2-cup jars, bottles, or desired container. 

Include the following instructions in a note or tag with jars:

Mix contents of jar together. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of mix per 1 cup of boiling milk or water. Makes 6 - 8 cups
